Vogue Patterns by Steven Meisel

Vogue Patterns by Steven Meisel - I first saw these gripping pictures in Italia Vogue back in December 2007. These pictures are optical illusions in a their own way and everybody love it! Really cool color palette compositions. The patterns are fashionable and timely as yet.

Models: Lara Stone, Meghan Collison, Kinga Rajzak, Maryna Linchuk, and Hanne-Gaby Odiele

For a fashion photography icon, it’s rather hard to find a printed piece of work you can get from Steven Meisel. Until now the only way to collect his work was Madonna’s 1992 “Sex” book, or ripping pages out of Vogue. The incredible series you see here was shot 2 years ago Italian Vogue and 1 image (shown after the jump) will be made into a puzzle with a limited run of 1,000 for $750 each.
We are truly stunned by how beautiful this series is. Check out all the loveliness! Look at this little explosion from the past ones again and get aesthetic enjoyment.

Are Meal Replacements The Best Way To Lose Weight ?

Many of us think that meal replacements are the best way to lose weight because they help shrink your stomach.

Meal replacements, like Slimfast or other similar very low calorie diets, usually come in the form of a high-protein, low-fat drink. Meal replacement plans are designed to be followed for a short period of time – weeks or sometimes even days – and they encourage fast weight loss. These plans, which usually provide around 600 calories per day, replace normal foods and are intended to kickstart your diet by providing concentrated nutrients in one low-calorie ‘meal’.

The plans may be used in different ways. Some use the meal replacements for up to a week without any food, whilst others use them for several weeks replacing 1 or 2 meals a day and eating a normal meal in the evening. Whilst they may be useful to those who are clinically obese or who can’t lose weight on conventional diets, it is important that these plans are never used for longer than 4 weeks. They are designed to help kickstart your diet only and don’t provide enough calories for long-term nutrition.

The Department of Health has expressed concern over the safety of these diets for people with heart and kidney disease, hypertension, cancer, diabetes and gout. They also advise against use for pregnant or breastfeeding women, children, infants adolescents or elderly people.

HAIRSTYLES FOR OVAL FACE SHAPES

Oval faces are the most many-sided faces. Many different styles will become you well, but no matter the length of your cut, you will look best with layers near your cheekbones, lips or chin - basically whatever feature you want to highlight. The perfect haircuts for oval face shapes are the cuts that show off the cheekbones and chin. The spike effect is downplayed, too much spike is NOT good on an oval face shape. It gives the illusion of length.

If you have wavy hair and an oval face, this long, wavy hairstyle is for you. It's not too long, which is bad for oval faces, but it's the perfect mix of wavy & long.

Celebrities that have OVAL FACE SHAPES

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Here, you see how hair that's just too long not only overwhelms an otherwise pretty face, but drags it down. While there are few hard and fast rules in beauty, we think few women can get away with hair this long. While dark roots were trendy for like five seconds last year, they never looked nice.

Jennifer Aniston.
An A-lister star all the way, Jennifer Aniston, also known as Brad Pitt’s ex-wife, is a blonde beauty who has the girl next door look and is equally at ease falling into the femme fatale mode, if a role demands it.

Cameron Diaz. Cameron lookes amazing promoting her movie, "In Her Shoes" with this simple yet stylish hairdo.

Applying Eye Shadow. Tips and Tricks When Using Eye Makeup

We always hear the proverb that the eyes are the windows to a person's soul. And it is nothing else but truth, because we can almost always known what kind of person someone is, or what is the underlying meaning of the words she or he says, simply by looking at the eyes. The eyes are prominent features of the face and are used a lot in communicating through non-verbal language.

Given that a person's eyes are the features that arrest attention whenever other people look at the face, women would do well to play up their eyes to enhance her face. There is nothing more attractive than tantalizing, lovely eyes.

The trick to creating eyes that will merit more than one second glance lies in the proper application of eye makeup, particularly the eye shadow. Here are a few tips and tricks guaranteed to make the eyes look adorable.
  • Blend it well. One of the keys to perfectly madeup eyes is in how the colours of the eye shadow are blended on the lids. The colours of your eye shadow should be flowing smoothly and harmoniously from one shade to the other upon your lids. To do this, you will need to use 3 colours for your eye shadow: the base colour, the main colour, and the highlighter. Apply the base colour on your eyelids first, and then put on the main colour. Afterwards, highlight the crease of your eyes.
  • Bring out the color of your eyes. The colours of your eye shadow should bring out the colour of your eyes, whether to match it or to go in contrast. Experiment with colours and see how good they go with your eyes.
  • Feature carefully. The purpose for putting highlighting colour on the eyes is to set the eyes off and to complete the effect you are trying to achieve with your eye shadow. So it is important to apply your highlighter very carefully. Blend your highlighter at the outer edge of the crease to make your eyes look larger. If your highlighter is too close, you will end up with beady-looking eyes.
  • Leave your browbone alone. Putting eye shadow on your browbone is unnecessary; simplicity goes a long, long way. Put color up to your browbone, but leave the browbone itself alone.
  • Tone down the shimmer. Shimmer is great for bringing out the eyes, but be careful in laying it out, it can bring out not just the eyes, but also the lines and the wrinkles.
  • Use a primer. Use a primer before applying your eye shadow. Putting a primer on not only makes your eye shadow look smoother, but also makes it last longer on your eyes.

  • Work the lips. If you want to have dramatic red lips, keep your eye shadow light and use a concealer to hide unsightly lines on your lids. You would not want to look like a clown with red lips and heavy eye shadow.
  • Limit the smoky hue. If you are trying your hand at a smoky eye, try to keep your colour on the eyelid and don't let it come close to the crease.
  • Brighten with white. To make your eyes seem brighter add a few dots of white just on the inside of eyes.
  • Colour, colour, colour. Experiment with various shades of eye shadow. If you bought something that you think is too dark or bold for you, try to mix it with other colors.

Fashionable MakeUp. Face and Hair Cosmetics of the Season 2009

EYE SHADOW

After getting a sneak peek at the circus carousel center stage at Chanel, the makeup line’s creative director Peter Philips was inspired to gild the models’ eyes. Plus, the lack of accessories in the collection made him want to turn their eyes into ornaments, as he said. Bringing the hue all the way up to the brow really enhances the eye.

Were seen at Baby Phat, BCBG Max Azria, Badgley Mischka, Versace and Chanel.

Apply several coats of golden shadow, leaving lashes bare. Mascara clumps would change the look, Philips said. It would suddenly become very disco.

Cosmetics: Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Powder, Chanel Ombre Essentielle in Gold, CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 3-Kit Shadow in Golden Sunset.

CHUNKY WAVES

Bumble and bumble stylist Laurent Philippon, who gave models at Preen gorgeous waves with stick-straight ends, wanted the hair to have a kind of rumpled sexiness—like late-’80s Kim Basinger in Batman and 9½ Weeks.

Were seen at: Ports 1961, Gucci, Preen, and Salvatore Ferragamo.

After coating wet hair with a heat-protecting spray, tousle strands with fingers while blow-drying, you need a bit of imperfection, Philippon said. Spritz hair with a medium-hold hairspray, then wrap small sections around a one-inch curling iron and rake through with fingers.

Cosmetics: Kérastase Vinyle Nutri-Sculpt, Bumble and bumble Bb Spray de Mode, TRESemmé Heat Tamer Spray.
